The California Department of Education has established Special Education Monitoring structures which review indicators associated with the performance and compliance of each school’s special education program.  The CDE utilizes a tiered structure for identification of LEAs in need of assistance and targeted or intensive support.

This breakout session will review the Annual Performance Report and annual notification process, cover the indicators and monitoring activities, and how these processes can link to the LEA’s LCAP.  We will also delve into how to leverage these processes for promoting organizational growth through root cause analysis and action planning.
